About Us
Our Story & Spirit
A Vision Born from Service
The Joshua Atieno Global Mission Inc. began as a response to a divine calling to serve “the least of these.” Founded by Missionary Joshua Atieno, our organization is built on the unwavering belief that every human being deserves dignity, nutrition, and a place to belong. Based in Toronto, we started by reaching out to our local neighbors experiencing homelessness, providing essential food and clothing. However, our heart for service knew no borders. Guided by the biblical mandate in James 1:27, we expanded our reach to East Africa, focusing on the two most vulnerable groups in society: orphans who lack a foundation for the future and widows who have lost their support systems.
Bridging Two Worlds for One Mission
Today, we operate as a vital link between the resources of Canada and the urgent needs of Kenya and Uganda. Through our strategic partnership with Widows Harvest International, we are not just providing temporary relief—we are building permanent legacies. From constructing schools and orphan homes to launching medical missions and housing for widows, our work is holistic and sustainable. We believe that by providing a child with an education and a widow with a safe home, we are manifesting the love of Christ in a tangible way. Whether we are on the streets of Toronto or in the rural villages of East Africa, our mission remains the same: to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in distress.
What We Do

In Canada:
We operate local missions in Toronto to provide the homeless with essential nutrition and weather-appropriate clothing.

In East Africa
Through our partnership with Widows Harvest International, we are actively building orphan homes and providing medical missions to remote communities.
How We Work
Our Faithful Process
From Toronto to East Africa, we ensure every donation is transformed into a tangible blessing through a clear, four-step journey of impact.
1.
Identifying the Need
Before we act, we listen. We work closely with local leaders in Toronto and our partners at Widows Harvest International in Kenya and Uganda to identify the most urgent needs. Whether it’s a lack of clean water, a need for a new classroom, or a local food shortage, we pinpoint where our help will have the greatest impact.
2.
Mobilizing Resources
Once the need is clear, we call our community to action. Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we gather the necessary funding, clothing, and supplies. We believe in radical transparency, ensuring that every resource is tracked and dedicated specifically to the project at hand.
3.
On-the-Ground Execution
This is where faith becomes action. Our team and local partners begin the work—whether that’s distributing meals on the streets of Toronto or breaking ground on a new school building in Kenya. We utilize local labor and materials whenever possible to support the local economy and ensure the project is built to last.
4.
Sustainable Growth & Prayer
Our mission doesn't end when a meal is served or a building is finished. We stay connected to the community to provide ongoing support, education, and spiritual encouragement. By monitoring the progress of our students and the stability of our widows, we ensure that the seeds we plant today grow into a lifetime of change.
